Welcome

Welcome to my 2011 follow up to the hugely successful blog of 'Jotown and Wally on the road'.

Here you'll be able to follow my quiet 'lifestyle',as I wander around the highways, byways, mountains and trails of Europe, in my van affectionately called 'Wally', or further afield using metal wings !

If I'm around where you are, and you want me to call - or visit me...just let me know ..

You can follow my adventures and keep in touch by posting messages whilst I am travelling.

For those of you who are returning for the second season then I expect more messages than in 2010....... this year there is a counter of page views at the foot of the page, so I will be watching.....!

Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pud……. all in New York City !

I was caught out twice, once by the change in clocks, and secondly by ‘jet lag’…so as  Joe demanded I get up at 0830 I was slightly bemused, as every clock I could see had a different time on it !

We had a quick breakfast, and then wen round the corner from Joe’s apt to mass at Church of Holy Trinity,http://www.htcny.org/ a huge church, bigger than most Cathedrals in the UK for  930 mass. The church was scarcely populated just before 930, but at the last minute everyone arrived – something I was to get used to, no one in NYC gets anywhere…until the last minute, no time wasters !

After mass we wandered in the sunshine, firstly to Zabars , a great Deli for coffee and then to the Bagel shop ,H+ H , reputedly the Best Bagel shop…in the World ? http://www.yelp.com/biz/h-and-h-bagels-new-york.

We returned to the Apt in time to watch England beat Scotland, in the Calcutta Cup,a  dour Rugby match.

Meanwhile the Chef de Maison – Nicola had been preparing a great ‘English’ lunch of Roast beef and all trimmings, and nice cake…We had also been joined b the first of the ‘Walsh’ clan who I would meet over the next few weeks,Billy Walsh,my cousins son  and his wife Shannon.

I then spent the rest of the day relaxing and panning the weeks events/tourist schedule.
