I’d originally decided that I was to move on again today, further up North, however, on wakening to the rocky blasts of wind buffeting Wally in the early morning, I decided that it would be a wise move to stay put, and do what any ‘retiree’ does on a Monday morning…. read the Saturday/Sunday papers…
I stretched the morning, reading, exercising my brain with Sudoku, crosswords and other puzzles, before eventually conceding that I just couldn’t do nothing all day, and so, as the wind continued to rock Wally, I decided to drop the roof down, and go out for a walk on the beach…that’s what you do in a hurricane isn’t it ?
I must say though, that considering the strong winds across the campsite, and on the cliffs, as I dropped down to the rocky coves, and beaches it was quite pleasant, the sun was shining, fairly warm blasts of wind, and me indulging in my usual ‘geology’ without knowing what I was doing !
I spent a couple of pleasant hours wandering the coves, almost getting cut off by the advancing waves, then back, up the cliffs into the teeth of the stormy winds, and back to the campsite, and an early night awaiting the winds to subside, and ready for a move in the morning…
