Welcome

Welcome to my 2011 follow up to the hugely successful blog of 'Jotown and Wally on the road'.

Here you'll be able to follow my quiet 'lifestyle',as I wander around the highways, byways, mountains and trails of Europe, in my van affectionately called 'Wally', or further afield using metal wings !

If I'm around where you are, and you want me to call - or visit me...just let me know ..

You can follow my adventures and keep in touch by posting messages whilst I am travelling.

For those of you who are returning for the second season then I expect more messages than in 2010....... this year there is a counter of page views at the foot of the page, so I will be watching.....!

The Calm before the Storm…

Today was a day to take it easy…and read the papers.

I awoke to find the rain pattering down on Wally’s roof, and it very dark. So I had a cup of tea,in bed…and awaited the time to….collect my paper, which I’d ordered the night before (thankfully), and which I happily devoured…. it being a big paper, and I had all day to read it.

I di get fed up later in the day, as the un came out and I wondered whether I may have wasted the day, however heavy downpours kept arriving, so I thought my decision to remain was right, especially as I was busy charging up everything that need  charging, as I may not have electric for a few days now…

I have decided that Sunday I will be going to mass at St Cuthbert's in Earlston, for a lazy 11-30 a.m. mass, and then on to the Mountain Biking mecca of Glentress http://www.7stanesmountainbiking.com/Glentress---Innerleithen and probably Innerleithen, and maybe others depending on how the old legs keep going…

The weather forecast for the area is reasonable….

I hope to be able to stay at the sites for a couple of days, so it may be some time before I’m back on t’internet….

So, until then Keep smiling and having fun, I expect to return in one piece, with not too much damage !!
